Dear Norbert,

Thank you for your email.  I am very sorry to hear about Betty.  She was a 
wonderful friend.  She brought so many beautiful songs to ECRS in addition to 
numerous other contributions of her energy and spirit.  I loved playing with 
her, her sense of humor and the delightful questions and insights that she 
had in the classes and in the many talks we had together.  There are so many 
moments that will be with me forever, from a very late night game of Trivial 
Pursuit to intense discussions of theory and leadership.  One of my fondest 
memories is when Jeff was about 10 or 12 and led his first game at ECRS.  She 
was so pleased - and a little jealous that he did such a great job. I loved 
having her in my classes, not only because she loved being there so much, but 
I always felt very supported and encouraged by her. 
I know we will sing with Betty this summer.  I miss her.
